Governor Patel Urges Graduates: Never Forget Your Roots, Education Must Serve Community Upliftment

Satna, October 11: Governor and Chancellor Mangubhai Patel emphasized that the true purpose of education extends beyond mere knowledge acquisition—it must pave the way for the upliftment of the marginalized. Addressing the 13th Convocation Ceremony of the Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramoday University, he urged graduates not to forget their parents, society, nation, and teachers once they reach the pinnacle of success. Patel stressed that while prosperity is achieved through effort, it must always be tempered with generosity.

Honoring the Legacy of Nanaji Deshmukh

The Governor highlighted the good fortune of the students studying at the university founded by Nanaji Deshmukh. He called upon them to draw inspiration from the national sage’s philosophy and dedicate their careers to national and social welfare. Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar, the Chief Guest, noted that the university’s ideals, reflected in the New Education Policy, are essential for building a developed India by 2047, a vision dependent on the youth, farmers, and industry.

University Celebrates Academic Excellence

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Bharat Mishra presented the progress report, proudly announcing that the university has been honored with the NAAC ‘A++’ Grade. During the ceremony, degrees were conferred upon a total of 799 students: 37 scholars received their Ph.D. degrees, and 762 students were awarded graduate and postgraduate degrees. Governor Patel personally presented 35 gold medals, with Disha Sahu from the Agriculture Faculty receiving the prestigious Nanaji Deshmukh Memorial Gold Medal.
