Governor Patel launches ‘Udaan’ in Sagar

  • Stresses Sicle Cell awareness

Sagar: Governor Mangubhai Patel, addressing a Jan Samvad (public dialogue) program in Kadta village, Rehli, underscored the critical need for awareness and timely treatment of Sickle Cell Anaemia. Terming it a primary responsibility of the administration, the Governor stressed that medical consultation and assistance must be readily available to those suffering from the inherited blood disorder. During the event, held in the historic land of tribal queen Rani Durgavati, the Governor officially launched the ‘Udaan Yojana’ (Flight Scheme).

Economic empowerment and health focus

Governor Patel hailed the new Food Forest Scheme started in Sagar as an innovative step toward empowering women’s self-help groups. He noted the plan involves planting approximately 10 lakh trees over three years, creating sustainable self-employment opportunities for rural women.

The Governor took the opportunity to highlight several other government initiatives, including the PM Ujjwala, Janman, and Dharti Aaba schemes, which are aimed at driving socio-economic change within tribal communities. He also called for promoting Gondi art and urged intensified awareness efforts against Tuberculosis (TB), emphasizing the need for continuous treatment and medication adherence for TB patients.

Local MLA and former Minister Gopal Bhargava recalled that Kadta village was the birthplace of the state’s flagship Chief Minister Kanyadan Yojana, adding historical significance to the location of the Governor’s address.
