New Delhi, Aug 25 (UNI) Google has started rolling out its ‘Material 3 Expressive Redesign’ update on Android dialler, phone app from the past few weeks.
It led to the surprising changes in the mobile interface for both daily phone users and tech buffs.
Users are experiencing some unique functionalities on the screen, like the bottom bar goes from four tabs to three, with the Favorites and Recents becoming ‘Home.’
This change is in line with a Google blog post of Mindy Brooks, VP of product management and user experiences, Android Platform, stating about the ‘Material 3 Expressive Redesign’ feature.
The blog stated, “Material 3 Expressive feels even more fluid and introduces a system of more natural, springy animations meant to bring a moment of delight to everyday routines. For example, when you dismiss a notification, the others next to it subtly respond to your drag. And when you snap it off the stack, you feel a satisfying haptic rumble.”
Pointing towards the upcoming experiences, the blog added, “ You get similar moments like this across your device, like when you’re dismissing an app in your recent apps screen, fidgeting with the volume slider, or flinging down the slide. We even subtly blur the shade background to provide a sense of depth, so the motion feels lightweight and you’re able to stay aware of the apps you’re using in the background.”
Users are experiencing big changes, including the disappearance of the contact list, as previously it was accessible through the Phone app. But now users can access their contacts with a search bar.
Moreover, other new changes include the button layout redesign, keypad appearance change, and a new feature added in the categorization of calls.
Now, there will be four types of categorizations included:- All calls, missed calls, calls from contacts, spam calls, and non-spam calls.
The ‘Incoming Call Screen’ has now been changed to the ‘Incoming Call Gesture’ option in the settings.
The update has only been rolled out yet in Google Phone, Google Notes, Google Photos, Gmail, Google Meet, Google TV, and Google Wallet. Google will roll out this update to more apps soon.
