Bhopal: As per the pre-announced schedule, members of the Sakal Brahmin Samaj Joint Front and employees from the general category staged a symbolic ‘Shankhnaad’ protest at Gate No. 6 of the Mantralaya on Friday between 1 pm and 2 pm. Demonstrators blew conch shells and recited the Hanuman Chalisa to “awaken the administration”.
The event was organised under the guidance of Joint Front convenor Virendra Sharma. Mantralaya Seva Adhikari Karmachari Sangh president, engineer Sudhir Nayak, welcomed participants and reiterated the demand for action against IAS officer Santosh Verma.
Prior to the demonstration, a meeting at Ninth Masala Restaurant resolved that the agitation would continue until documents related to action against Verma are made available.
Office bearers Ashish Soni, Rajkumar Patel, Harisharan Dwivedi, Satish Sharma and others were present, along with Brahmin organisation leaders and several employee representatives.
