Free eye camp held, 190 patients examined

Bhopal: A free eye test and cataract surgeries camp was organized today at Ganesh Mandir on Chhola Road in Bhopal. The camp was organized in joint efforts of Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital and Bhopal Utsav Mela Samiti. The camp was inaugurated by the samiti officials and Sewa Sadan team with garlanding of pictures of deities and lighting of lamps.

As many as 190 patients were examined, included 85 men and 105 women. During the examination, cataract was confirmed in 55 patients, who were brought to Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital and admitted. Free accommodation, fruits, milk, medicines and food have been arranged for all the identified patients. Their surgeries will be done by senior eye surgeons on Monday. Free medicines were distributed to other patients and their blood pressure and diabetes were also checked.

This was the eighth camp in the series of eye camps being organized in Bhopal during the monsoon season. So far, eye check-ups of about two thousand patients have been done through these camps, out of which cataract surgeries have been done successfully on 350 patients. The next camp will be organized on Sunday, 31 August 2025 at Sant Nirankari Mandal, Jahangirabad, Bhopal. On this occasion, Sunil Jainavin, Narayan Singh Kushwah, Pt. Jagdish Bajpai, Chandrashekhar Soni, Dr. Yogendra Mukharayya, Virendra Jain of Bhopal Mela Utsav Samiti and the team of Sewa Sadan played an active role.
