Four Mandsaur Cops Suspended Over Opium Smuggling Case: SP Cracks Down on Shamgarh Station

Mandsaur: In a decisive move to combat negligence and preserve the integrity of the force, Mandsaur Superintendent of Police (SP) Vinod Meena has suspended four police personnel from the Shamgarh station. The action was taken following evidence of serious dereliction of duty in handling a major Dodachura (opium husk) smuggling case. The move underscores the growing scrutiny over alleged misconduct in Madhya Pradesh’s police department.

TI, SI, and Constables under the Axe

The officers suspended with immediate effect are Shamgarh Station House Officer (SHO) Dharmendra Shivhare, Sub-Inspector Avinash Soni, Head Constable Dilip Baghel, and Constable Manish. An initial inquiry found that responsible station-level officers had failed to show the necessary vigilance and made significant lapses in prosecuting the illegal narcotics case.

Departmental Inquiry Launched

SP Meena has not only suspended the four but has also ordered a full departmental inquiry against them. The SP issued a stern warning that negligence related to drug trafficking will not be tolerated and promised the “harshest disciplinary action” against any officer found complicit in such activities. The police department is currently in turmoil as the SIT expands its investigation into the wider smuggling network.
