Car crashes through railing
Jabalpur: A devastating accident occurred near the Somti River Bridge under the Charghawana police station area when a Scorpio vehicle, while returning from a visit to the Dadda Ghat Temple in Narsinghpur, lost control, crashed through the railing, and plunged into the river below. Four individuals tragically lost their lives at the scene, while two others sustained injuries.
According to CSP Anjul Aayansh Mishra, the vehicle, registered MP 20 BA 6954, was carrying six passengers from Chowkital, Bhedaghat, who had visited Narsinghpur. The accident took place around 4 PM when the car reached the Somti River Bridge. The vehicle veered out of control, smashed the railing, and fell from the bridge. The sound of the crash prompted villagers to rush for help, and they immediately informed the police. Rescue operations were carried out with great difficulty, breaking open the car doors with a crowbar to pull out the victims.
The victims who lost their lives in the accident were:
Kishan Patel (35), son of Gulzari Lal Patel
Mahendra Patel (35), son of Teerath Patel
Sagar Patel (17), son of Rajesh Patel
Rajendra Patel (36), son of Narayan Patel All were residents of Chowkital.
The injured victims, Jitendra Patel (father Narayan Prasad Patel) and Manoj Patel (father Govind Patel, 37), both residents of Chowkital, were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
