Investigation agencies have become alert to arrest former transport constable Saurabh Sharma who has earned black money worth crores of rupees. Agencies have received input that Saurabh has left Dubai.
He can return to India anytime. A lookout notice has already been issued against Saurabh, due to which he will be arrested as soon as he lands at any airport. First of all, the Enforcement Directorate is trying to take him in its custody. However, it is not clear yet whether he will return directly to India from Dubai or go to some other country.
The Lokayukta police first raided the hideout of former transport constable Saurabh Sharma living in Arera Colony. At that time, the team had revealed property worth Rs 8 crore. On the second day of the action, the Income Tax Department seized an Innova car filled with 52 kg gold and Rs 11 crore from the Mendora forest in Ratibad near Saurabh’s brother-in-law’s farm house. All this stuff is said to be of Saurabh Sharma. After this, ED took action at Saurabh’s locations in Bhopal, Jabalpur and other places.
Had gone to Dubai before the action
The Lokayukta team took action at Saurabh’s house on December 19. Four days before that, on December 15, he had gone to Dubai with his wife. The investigating agencies had issued a lookout notice against Saurabh, so that he could be caught from any airport in the country. Saurabh had tried to get anticipatory bail in this case, but the court rejected it. Saurabh will surrender himself on coming to India or he will be arrested. At present, the investigating agencies are keeping an eye on all the airports.
I-T Dept also tightening noose
When Lokayukta police raided Saurabh Sharma’s hideouts, the Income Tax Department was conducting raids against three builders of the city. In the Income Tax raid, documents related to lands of influential people including former administrative officers, politicians were seized. Now the Income Tax Department is looking for the mutual connection between Saurabh Sharma and the builders.
On the basis of the seized documents, the Income Tax Department will issue notices to all the people and summon them for questioning.
