Five bus passengers killed, 25 injured in a road accident in Himachal’s Mandi

Mandi (HP), July 24 (UNI) Five bus passengers were killed and 25 others injured when a road transport bus rolled down into a deep ditch near Maseran Talgara on Sarkaghat-Jamni-Durgapur road of Mandi district early this morning, said an official.

There were 35 passengers in the bus when it met with an accident, said an official spokesperson.

Three women are also among the dead. All the injured were taken out of the ditch with the help of local police and villagers and taken to a Sarkaghat hospital. The condition of three injured is said to be critical, and they have been referred to Bilaspur AIIMS.

Sources said the bus was coming from Jamni towards Sarkaghat. The vehicle suddenly went out of control and fell into the ditch near Maseran Talgara on Sarkaghat-Jamni-Durgapur road. Relief and rescue work is going on.

The cause of the accident has not been ascertained yet, the spokesperson said.

Senior roadways’ officials have rushed to the spot along with other district level officers.
