New Delhi, (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday said her current position is one of great responsibility, and not a privilege, and pointed out that in BJP, only responsibilities are assigned.
Presenting the one-year report card of her government at a programme in North East Delhi, she stated that long-pending issues related to roads, sewer lines, libraries, schools, and electric buses have been addressed, and a detailed booklet of completed works has been shared with the public.
According to Gupta, the first year was about changing the direction of Delhi, and the next four years will be about transforming the city’s condition.
Mentioning the Yamuna Par Development Board, the CM said that it has been reconstituted and allocated Rs 700 crore, and claimed that the erstwhile Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government had discontinued the board.
She assured that Delhi’s problems will improve year after year and the city will witness a positive transformation.
As the BJP- led Delhi government completes its first year, chief of the saffron party in the union Territory Virendra Sachdeva and the Chief Minister, along with the area MPs, will be visiting workers in every parliamentary constituency each evening starting Monday to discuss with people the works done. The first visit was in North East Delhi today.
The CM stated that whenever previous governments committed any wrong, BJP workers protested day and night to hold them accountable.
Gupta congratulated Delhi BJP president and all the workers for tirelessly taking the works of the Modi Government to every household, after which the people of Delhi elected the party’s government.
Speaking on the occasion, the Delhi BJP chief said that the programme was not a public rally, but an interaction with workers whose discipline and hard work formed the government.
He said the BJP government is working among the people and understands that improving Delhi is its duty.
Sachdeva added that when the government seeks votes after five years, it will do so based on its work, also sharing that every Saturday, a minister is present at the party’s state unit office, so citizens no longer need to run from place to place for the resolution of their issues.
