Fire breaks out in Delhi’s Wazirpur; No casualties reported

New Delhi, Nov 1 (UNI) A major fire erupted in Wazirpur, an industrial area in Delhi, causing panic among nearby workers and residents, an official reported today.

According to the police, thick smoke billowed from the site as authorities scrambled to control the fire.

The police reported that “The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but preliminary reports suggest it may have started in one of the manufacturing units,” police mentioned.

An officer from Delhi Fire Service said, “Ten fire tenders are currently on the site, working relentlessly to get the situation under control.”

“Firefighters are encountering difficulties because of the densely packed structures and the flammable materials stored in multiple units. Nevertheless, teams are working to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings,” he added.

He further confirmed, “No casualties have been reported so far.” According to the official, the factory fire was reported at approximately 2:19 pm, leading to the deployment of 13 fire tenders to the site.

No injuries or casualties have been reported so far. As a precaution, authorities have evacuated the surrounding area.

Local police are managing traffic and keeping commuters away to ensure fire tenders and rescue teams can operate smoothly.

An investigation into this matter has been taken up to determine the cause of the fire and evaluate the damage.

Delhi Fire Service officials have confirmed that a thorough safety inspection of nearby industrial units will be conducted once the situation is completely under control.
