FIR against Vice Chancellor

  • Case against 18 professors registered
  • Vice Chancellor of Banswara Prof. KS Thakur also accused
  • EOW takes action in corruption case

EOW has registered a case against Vice Chancellor of Jiwaji University Prof. Avinash Tiwari along with 15 professors and 3 assistant professors. Along with this, Vice Chancellor of Govindguru Tribal University Banswara Rajasthan Prof. KS Thakur has also been made an accused. Prof. Thakur was previously posted in Jiwaji.

EOW SP Dilip Singh Tomar told that applicant Arun Kumar Sharma resident of Durga Colony Morar Gwalior had lodged a complaint in Economic Offences Cell against Director Shivshakti Mahavidyalaya Village Jhundpura Tehsil Sabalgarh District Morena for running the college fraudulently, which was investigated by Economic Offences Cell Unit Gwalior.

On the basis of evidence obtained after investigation, it was found that Raghuraj Singh Jadoun, Director of Shivshakti Mahavidyalaya, Village Jhundpura, along with other accused, prepared forged documents on the basis of which the college was recognized and affiliated and by showing fake admission of students, the government was financially harmed by getting benefits of scholarship and other items. A case has been registered under Prevention of Corruption Act against Dr. APS Chauhan, Dr. A. K. Halve, Dr. S. K. Gupta, Dr. S. K. Singh, Dr. C. P. Shinde, Dr. R. A. Sharma, Professor Avinash Tiwari (present Vice Chancellor), Dr. K. S. Thakur, Jyoti Prasad, Dr. Navneet Garud, Dr. Sapan Patel, Dr. S. K. Dwivedi, Dr. Hemant Sharma, Dr. Radha Tomar, Dr. R. P. Pandey, Dr. M. K. Gupta, Dr. Nimisha Jadoun, Dr. Suresh Sachdeva, Dr. Meena Srivastava, members of the investigation committee constituted every year by Jiwaji University for inspection of the college. The offence under section 7 of the IPC is prima facie proved to be true.

Due to the death of Dr APS Chauhan, a member of the investigation team, a case has been registered against the remaining members under sections of the IPC and Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 (Amendment Act 2018).
