Festive relief and route changes impacting rail travel

Jabalpur: Passengers across the West Central Railway (WCR) network are facing both extended travel disruptions due to infrastructure work and a welcome boost in seat availability ahead of the festive season.

Kota rerouting extended to October 8

Due to ongoing redevelopment work at Kota Railway Station, the WCR has extended the diversion of several key trains until October 8. Originally set to end on October 4, this change means multiple services will now bypass Kota and operate via Sogaria Station instead.

The major affected services include the:

* Jabalpur-Ajmer-Jabalpur Dayodaya Express (12181/12182)

* Bhopal-Jodhpur Express (14814/14813)

Passengers traveling on these routes should note the changed station of operation.

Special train capacity boosted for festivals

In anticipation of increased passenger traffic for Diwali and Chhath festivals, the WCR has permanently augmented the Rani Kamalapati-Danapur-Rani Kamalapati Special Train. Railway authorities have added one permanent AC 3-Tier coach and one Sleeper Class coach to the service.

This capacity increase adds 136 berths (64 AC 3-Tier and 72 Sleeper) for travelers. This enhanced service will benefit passengers traveling from Rani Kamalapati starting on October 7 and from Danapur starting on October 8, connecting stations like Jabalpur, Itarsi, and Satna.
