Female bank manager digitally arrested

Cyber fraudsters digitally arrested a female bank manager living in the Kolar area of ??the capital. The fraudsters started interrogating her accusing her of money laundering of 2.56 crores from her credit card.

The woman locked herself in the room and did not open the door even when her mother-in-law asked her to. On getting suspicious, the mother-in-law informed her son, after which the police got the information. Kolar police station reached the spot and somehow got the door opened and saved the woman from fraud. This is the first case of digital arrest in the new year, when the police have rescued someone.

According to the information, Pranali Tikekar, a resident of Kolar Road, is an assistant manager in Bank of India. On Sunday, she was at home with her mother-in-law, while other family members had gone out. In the afternoon, an unknown person called on her mobile.

The caller introduced himself as an officer of Delhi Crime Branch and informed that a transaction of Rs 2.56 crore has been done from her credit card under money laundering. Pranali told the caller that no such transaction has been done from her credit card or ATM, but the alleged officer who was talking to her threatened to implicate her in a big case and proposed to talk. He said that she should go to her room and not talk to anyone. He said that for some time you should consider yourself under digital arrest and not give any information to anyone.

Did not open door when mother-in-law knocked

Pranali reached her room and closed the door. After that, a video call came on her mobile. On talking, the Crime Branch officer started asking for bank account details, threatening to implicate her in money laundering. Pranali was very scared, so she shared many types of confidential information with him. Meanwhile, after some time, her mother-in-law, who was present in the house, first called out and later knocked on the door. This Pranali said that she should not be disturbed and necessary police interrogation is going on. On getting suspicious, mother-in-law called her younger son i.e. Pranali’s brother-in-law and told him that she is not opening the door.

Police reached the spot as soon as they got the information

After listening to the mother, Pranali’s brother-in-law went straight to Kolar police station and informed them about the incident. A police team immediately reached the house with him and knocked on the door. After a lot of effort, when Pranali opened the window, the real police were standing in front of her. After the conversation, as soon as the door opened, the police entered the room. Inside, there were cyber fraudsters on video calling, who first argued with the Kolar police and later switched off the screen. Police reached the spot on time, so Pranali was saved from being a victim of fraud.
