Srinagar, Oct 29 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Farooq Abdullah today urged the party’s newly elected Rajya Sabha members to champion the cause of J&K’s Statehood restoration.
NC three leaders Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Sajjad Kichloo, and Shammi Oberoi recently won the Rajya Sabha elections from J&K.
Abdullah asked the trio to utilize their vast experience in public service to effectively represent the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the Parliament.
He called upon the MPs to actively raise and advocate for the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood at every possible forum, both within and outside the Parliament.
“The people of Jammu and Kashmir have immense expectations from their representatives. It is our duty to ensure that their voices are heard and their rights are safeguarded. The restoration of statehood remains a core demand of the National Conference as the first step towards the region’s journey of rights restoration,” he said.
The party president further expressed confidence that the newly elected MPs would uphold the values, principles, and legacy of the National Conference, continuing its struggle for democracy, dignity, and justice for the people of Jammu and Kashmir democratically and constitutionally.
