Bhopal, Jan 5 (UNI) Amidst continuous snowfall in the hilly states, a large part of Madhya Pradesh is experiencing the double whammy of intense cold and fog these days.
The day temperature was below 20 degrees Celsius on Sunday in more than half the areas in the state.
The local weather office warned of dense fog and cold in most areas on Monday as well. Chhatarpur, Umaria and Rajgarh are expected to experience very dense fog and a cold day. In Datia district, very dense fog and a cold wave is likely to be in some places.
There is an apprehension of dense fog in Gwalior, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna, Panna, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Bhind and Morena districts. Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, Shajapur, Agar, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Sheopur, Singrauli, Sidhi, Shahdol, Katni, Damoh, Sagar and Maihar are likely to experience fog and intense cold.
Meanwhile, school timings were altered from Monday in Bhopal and many other districts.
As per the order of the local District Education officer, schools will not function before 09:30 a.m. In Sagar, this timing is applicable to classes from nursery to VIII. Schools were declared closed in Indore.
