- Gond Art Workshop concludes
Bhopal: The cultural diversity of Madhya Pradesh has always attracted the attention of the people, hence a five-day Gond painting workshop was organized in Abhinav Kala Samaj under the banner of Art Way Gallery and Create Stories NGO, which concluded with an exhibition of the paintings made and a live painting made by everyone gave the message of promoting folk art and artists.
The workshop was taken by tribal artist Balendra Udde and artist Alka Jha of Anuppur. They said that the specialty of Gond art is the motifs related to mythology and folklore, motifs related to flowers and animals and patterned designs that fill each motif with subtlety.
Coordinator Deepak Sharma said that at the end of this workshop, the artists together did live painting, the expert gave information about the Gond community’s culture and lifestyle, festivals etc. by telling about their paintings. Trees, mountains, cows, deer, lions, wells, forests, rural houses, children, birds etc. were seen in the live work.
In the beautiful painting with colors, the deer’s horns were carved on the canvas in such a way as if they were not deer’s horns but trees. They look like trees on which birds are sitting. To show it in a beautiful way, the deer’s feet have also been shown in many colors. Beauty, love and nature have been shown in this painting. Varsha Malviya, Shweta Porwal, Jyoti Upadhyay, Kamlesh Gupta, Sushma Gupta, Awadhesh Kumar, Pooja Devi, Vinaya Acharya, Rajeshwari Joshi, Surekha Nimbalkar, Ayushi Parmar, Neetu Kelkar, Neha Agarwal, Saumya Singh Baghel, Anisha Agarwal, Akanksha Thete participated in this workshop.
