- Major action against bootleggers shakes up illegal alcohol network
Bhopal: The illegal liquor trade in Bhopal was dealt a massive blow on Wednesday morning when the Excise Department carried out a surprise raid. Teams raided several hotspots, including Gandhi Nagar, Nai Basti, Nariyal Khera, and Karond areas executing one of their biggest crackdowns yet. This decisive action was carried out under the leadership of Bhopal Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh and Assistant Excise Commissioner Virendra Dhakad, with the raid spearheaded by Control Room Incharge R.G. Bhadauriya.
What was seized?
40 liters of illicit hand-made liquor in 3 cans.
* 1500 kg of Mahua Lahan and raw material for brewing alcohol in 3 large tanks.
* 2 liters of illegal liquor seized from the house of Rupmati Banjara.
* 1.5 liters from Indra Bai’s residence.
* 3 liters from Lakhan Pardhi’s premises.
Estimated value of seized material: Rs 1,62,000
This operation was conducted under the leadership of Circle Incharge Dr. Anu Jain, with the full support of the district excise team, who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the raid.

Assistant Excise Commissioner Virendra Dhakad made it clear that the department’s relentless drive against the illegal alcohol trade will continue without pause, sending a strong message to bootleggers across the region.
