Satna, In a shocking incident highlighting concerns over law and order, an unidentified assailant shot and injured a head constable, Prince Garg, within the premises of the Jaitwara police station in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna district. Constable Garg was immediately rushed to Rewa Medical College Hospital for treatment and is now reported to be out of danger.
The masked assailant, wielding a country-made firearm, attacked the head constable while he was having a meal in the police quarters situated inside the station compound. Prompt medical intervention was provided, and he was subsequently transferred to Rewa for specialized care. Doctors have confirmed that his condition is now stable. Police have launched a thorough investigation into the brazen attack.
The incident has triggered sharp political reactions. State Congress President Jitu Patwari, taking to social media, strongly criticized the state government, stating that even police stations are no longer safe under the current law and order situation. He pointed out the escalation from police beatings to officers being shot, demanding stringent action against those responsible.
Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, Umang Singhar, also put the BJP state government in the dock, asserting that “jungle raj” has completely taken over. He condemned the audacious act of criminals shooting a police officer within the confines of a police station, underscoring the emboldened state of lawbreakers in the region.
