- BJP rule marked by cruel injustice against marginalized communities
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari has condemned a shocking incident in Vijaypur, calling it a horrifying reminder of the inhuman treatment Dalits continue to face under BJP rule. In a powerful statement, Patwari said, “The news coming from Vijaypur shakes the very soul of democracy. Dalits are not just being denied their rights in life—but now even in death.”
According to reports, members of the Jatav community were forcibly stopped from performing the last rites of a deceased family member, allegedly on the orders of BJP leader and former Congressman Ramniwas Rawat. Patwari termed the incident as not just a blatant violation of the Indian Constitution, but an affront to basic human dignity.
“This is the true face of BJP – arrogance of power, deep-rooted caste bias, and contempt for democratic values. While their leaders shout slogans of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, their actions strip the marginalized of their most fundamental rights.”
Patwari alleged that the atrocity was a deliberate and politically motivated act, carried out by Rawat, who he claimed is still reeling from his loss in the assembly by-election. “His frustration has now turned into hatred against the Dalit community,” he said.
Congress State President raises tough questions:
Why is the administration so helpless before leaders like Ramniwas Rawat?
Do BJP leaders consider themselves above the Constitution and the law?
Are Dalit rights just empty slogans for the ruling party?
