  • Fear of a big accident in darkness haunts
  • Public representatives and officials not paying attention to this

Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal
There are many areas in the capital. Where the roads are immersed in darkness as soon as the night falls. Darkness is spread all around on these roads.

Due to which people have to face inconvenience in passing through these roads. Women are afraid to pass through these roads. Because, anti-social elements often carry out criminal activities on these roads. On one hand, the festival of Diwali is near. On the other hand, there is still darkness on the roads. The surprising thing is that, last month, Mayor Malti Rai had given orders to repair these street lights as soon as possible. Even after these orders, darkness is seen on the roads of the capital. There are about 40 to 50 such areas in Bhopal. Where street lights are installed, but either the department forgets to turn them on or they are out of order. Now only the electricity companies and officials can tell the truth about these street lights. Drivers have to face a lot of trouble driving at night. Due to darkness, accidents are also increasing. Chain snatchers are active and keep a lookout. Despite all this, the municipal officials, public representatives and the administration are not paying any attention to the street lights. If a major accident happens on these roads due to darkness, then who will be responsible for it?

Areas in Bhopal where street lights are often seen switched off. It includes BHEL, Piplani, Kokta Bypass, Transport Colony, Kolar, Security Line, road from ISBT to Anna Nagar, Raisen Road, Piplani 100 Quarter, Bhanpura Road, road from Bansal Hospital to JK Hospital, Ratnagiri to Bhanpur Road, Piplani B Sector to Khajuri Kalan Road, Mahatma Gandhi to Avadhpuri, Govindpura Police Station to Security Line, Karond, Chunabhatti, Kamala Park area, MP Nagar, Nehru Nagar, Shivaji Nagar, Chetak Bridge, Tulsi Nagar, Arera Colony, Chhola Road, Government Press area, Char Imli, Saket Nagar, Bagsewaniya to Katara Hills Road, Barrai, Bawdia Kala, some roads included in Bairagarh area, Ater Road, Bogda Bridge, some roads inside Ashoka Garden, Govindpura area, Badi Sabzi Mandi Road and Hoshangabad Road etc. However, street lights are sometimes lit on some of these roads.
