Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee state spokesperson Vivek Tripathi has launched a sharp attack on the state government over what he termed serious factual and administrative errors in the official “Madhya Pradesh Government Diary 2026”. He said the lapses were a glaring example of negligence and raised serious questions about the government’s functioning and accountability.
Tripathi pointed out that in at least eight key departments, the names of Heads of Department or Principal Secretaries were missing, while several entries listed officers who had been transferred years ago, had retired, or were currently posted in other departments. In many cases, there was no coordination between posts, officers’ names and departments, indicating that the diary was compiled without proper verification.
He further alleged that mobile numbers of most officers, despite allowances being paid for the same, were omitted and replaced with non-functional landline numbers. Tripathi said it was incomprehensible that public money was wasted in a debt-ridden state.
He demanded a high-level inquiry, fixation of responsibility, immediate issuance of corrections, and strict monitoring to prevent such lapses, warning of agitation if no action was taken.
