Engineering students were stealing vehicles by forming a gang

  • 4 accused arrested, 9 two-wheelers recovered

Bhopal: Piplani police of the capital has taken a major action and arrested 4 engineering students in the case of vehicle theft. A total of 9 stolen bikes have been recovered from the accused, whose value is said to be more than Rs 15 lakh. All four students are said to be fond of driving high speed two-wheelers.

When their family members could not fulfill their hobbies, all four formed a gang and started stealing vehicles. They used to steal two-wheelers like Bullet, R-15 and Apache. The accused had stolen vehicles from Piplani and Govindpara areas of Vidisha Bhopal.

According to the information, DCP Zone No. 2 Dr. Sanjay Agarwal had given instructions to stop the incidents of vehicle theft in the area and to arrest the accused. A special team was formed under the leadership of Anand Nagar outpost in-charge SI Santosh Raghuvanshi and was deployed in search of vehicle thieves. The police team detained four suspects after scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area.

In the initial interrogation, the accused told that they were stealing two-wheelers for the last six months. On the information given by the four, the police have seized a total of 5 two-wheelers including Yamaha R-15, Royal Enfield Bullet, TVS Apache, TVS Rider, Hero Splendor. The accused told the police that they had hidden 2 stolen vehicles in district Anuppur and 2 vehicles in district Shahdol.
