Bhopal: A bus from Shakti Travels crushed an engineer near the Sukhi Sevaniya toll. After the accident, the accused driver and conductor fled the scene, leaving the bus behind. Villagers assisted in taking the injured to Hamidia Hospital via ambulance.
The young man succumbed to his injuries during treatment on Friday morning at 7 AM. The incident occurred around 6:30 PM on Thursday. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. The body has been handed over to the family after the post-mortem on Friday afternoon.
Puneet Dhaar Dwivedi (34), son of Bhaskar Dwivedi, resided in Manas Colony, near Mittal College in Karond. He was currently working as a Territory Manager at V Guard Company. Puneet was returning home on his Activa after a company meeting in Vidisha on Thursday evening when a speeding bus collided with him head-on on the Bhopal-Vidisha road near the Sukhi Sevaniya toll. He sustained severe injuries from the impact.
Deceased has a 9-month-old daughter
Two years ago, Puneet had an arranged marriage with a woman from Rewa, as per his parents’ wishes. They welcomed a daughter nine months ago.
Sub-Inspector KC Yadav, who is investigating the case, stated that the accused driver fled the scene after the accident. At the time, the bus had passengers on board. The bus has been seized and is currently stationed at the police station. Efforts are underway to locate and arrest the driver. A case has been registered.
