Colombo, Oct 14 (UNI) With three consecutive victories on the trot, England Women will look to extend their winning streak when they face Pakistan Women in the 16th match of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium here tomorrow.
Led by captain Nat Sciver-Brunt, England have displayed dominant form throughout the tournament, combining powerful batting and disciplined bowling to outclass their opponents.
Sciver-Brunt, who struck a commanding 117 in the previous match against Sri Lanka, and left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone, who claimed four wickets for just 17 runs, have been at the heart of England’s success. Their match-winning performances have propelled the team to the top tier of the standings and made them the side to beat.
In contrast, Pakistan Women have endured a difficult campaign, losing three matches in succession, including a heavy defeat against World Champions Australia. Captain Fatima Sana and opener Sidra Amin will need to inspire a turnaround if Pakistan are to challenge the high-flying English side.
On paper and by form, England remain overwhelming favourites, with a 91 percent win probability compared to Pakistan’s nine, reflecting the gulf between the two sides.
However, conditions could play a key role, as thundery showers are forecast throughout the day, and the R Premadasa pitch is expected to offer significant turn for spinners — a factor that could influence both teams’ strategy at the toss.
With their all-round balance, tactical depth, and winning momentum, England are widely tipped to continue their impressive run and secure another commanding victory over Pakistan tomorrow.
