Employees to hold joint protest at Mantralaya gate today

By Special Correspondent

Bhopal: Sudhir Nayak, president of the Mantralaya Seva Adhikari/Karmachari Sangh, has said in a press statement that members of the Brahmin Samaj Joint Front and general category employees will stage a symbolic protest on 12 December at Mantralaya Gate No. 6 from 1 pm to 2 pm. The groups will blow conches and ring bells to “awaken the sleeping administration” and draw the government’s attention to their demand for action against IAS officer Santosh Verma.

Nayak stated that despite allegedly making highly objectionable remarks against daughters and facing multiple accusations of irregularities, no action has been taken against Verma even after 18 days. Until now, Brahmin organisations and general category employees had been protesting separately, but this marks the first phase of their united agitation under the newly formed Joint Struggle Front, led by convenor Virendra Sharma.

The organisers have urged all general category employees to participate. Authorities have been formally notified of the programme.
