While announcing the release date, the streamer also revealed a series of captivating first-look images teasing Emily’s sleek new life — from cruising the Venetian waterways to exploring ancient Roman ruins.

The announcement was shared via the official Emily in Paris and Netflix Instagram handles, accompanied by the caption:“Benvenuto! The first look images from Emily in Paris are here, and they’re serving up a slice of la dolce vita! Season 5 returns on December 18.”

“This season is a tale of two cities. Rome and Paris,” creator Darren Star says. “Straddling both, Emily takes love and life to the next level.”

Rome’s not the only new city Emily is exploring, see Emily cruising through Venice in a speedboat above.

According to media reports, “But just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks. Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships. Tackling conflict with honesty, Emily emerges with deeper connections, renewed clarity, and a readiness to embrace new possibilities.”

First-look images show Lily Collins’s Emily embarking on idyllic escapades such as a romantic walk with Marcello, riding horses, and a peaceful boat cruise along Venice’s famous canals teasing a growing connection between the pair.

Season 5 follows Emily’s new life in charge of the Agence Grateau Rome office, where she confronts professional failures, heartache, and a new secret that jeopardizes deep relationships. Throughout, she searches for clarity, deeper connections, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Back for the cast are Ashley Park (Mindy), Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, William Abadie, Lucien Laviscount, Eugenio Franceschini (Marcello), Thalia Besson, and Paul Forman. Newcomers are Minnie Driver as Princess Jane and Bryan Greenberg as Jake. Interesting is that Camille Razat won’t be back this season.

Emily in Paris Season 4 ranked No. 1 on the Netflix Global Top 10 when it premiered in August. It had 19.9 million views in its first four days, reaching the Top 10 in 93 countries, and has remained on the list for four consecutive weeks since.

Can Emily move on, or will she move back to the City of Lights? Season 5 will bring the question to an end.
