- Learn the nuances of technical testing
Bhopal: A one-day educational tour was organized to enhance the technical knowledge of students, coordinated by the Department of Pharmacy, Center for Science Communication, and Faculty of Science and Engineering at Rabindranath Tagore University. This event took place at the Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology (CIPET), a renowned technical institute under the Government of India, with over 75 students and faculty members participating.
The tour aimed to familiarize students with industrial processes, scientific testing methods, and the operation of modern technical equipment. Participants gained hands-on experience in key areas such as Material Strength Testing, Thermal Analysis, Spectroscopy, Mold Designing, Injection Molding, and Quality Control.
Students explored CIPET’s state-of-the-art laboratories, witnessing firsthand the intricate processes involved in manufacturing, testing, and evaluating various plastic materials. Experts provided live demonstrations of advanced machinery, including the Universal Testing Machine (UTM), DSC Machine, MFI Tester, and CNC-based molding machines.
The students displayed a keen interest, engaging with experts through technical questions. This educational experience allowed them to understand the importance of scientific testing in maintaining efficiency and safety standards. At the conclusion of the tour, faculty members expressed their gratitude to CIPET management.
