Bhopal: Former RTO constable crorepati Saurabh Sharma may not have accepted in the investigation of the Income Tax Department that the 52 kg gold and Rs 11 crore cash found in the Innova car in Mendori of the capital belongs to him, but the ED (Enforcement Directorate) Bhopal has said in the report that the gold belongs to saurabh.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) Bhopal has said in the information released that former RTO constable Saurabh Sharma has amassed property worth crores of rupees in his name and in the name of relatives and associates. Following the investigation, the ED has provisionally attached movable and immovable assets worth Rs 92.07 crore acquired in the name of firms, companies and societies owned and controlled by them.
Regarding the ED’s report stating that the cash and gold seized from the Innova car belonged to Saurabh Sharma, Satish Goyal, Director General of the Income Tax Department’s investigation wing, said that he is not aware of the ED’s report. The ED has not given any such information that the gold and cash found in the Innova car have been found to belong to Saurabh after interrogation. He also said that 52 kg gold and 11 crore cash which was seized by the Income Tax Department is in the possession of the Income Tax Department.
