Rome/New Delhi, Nov 25 (UNI) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with the foreign ministers of Ukraine, France, Lebanon, and Croatia in Rome today.
On his meeting with the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, EAM reiterated India’s support for dialogue and diplomacy to end the long-running conflict.
The EAM in a post on X said:
“Good to meet FM of Ukraine @andrii_sybiha in Rome today.
“Useful exchange on advancing our bilateral cooperation. Reiterated India’s support for dialogue and diplomacy.”
The Ukrainian FM said he informed EAM about the latest developments and that India’s global role “is critical to advancing a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in Ukraine”.
“I held meaningful talks with @DrSJaishankar on a number of bilateral and international issues. I appreciate India’s support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. India’s global role is critical to advancing a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in Ukraine.
“I informed about the latest developments, Russia’s strikes on our energy system, including nuclear objects, and its use of an IRBM. We discussed the implementation of our leaders’ agreements and agreed to hold the next intergovernmental commission meeting in the coming months.”
The meeting comes as EAM in his address to the Rome Mediterranean Dialogue 2024, said that New Delhi is always willing to contribute meaningfully to any international diplomatic endeavours towards resolution of the Middle East and Ukrainian conflicts.
Separately, the EAM met with the French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrotx, during which they also discussed the Ukrainian conflict.

“A useful stock taking of our bilateral partnership. Also discussed Indo-Pacific, Ukraine and global issues.”
He also met with the Lebanese foreign minister Abdallah Bou Habib on the sidelines of the Rome Mediterranean Dialogue 2024.
On his meeting with the Croatian FM Gordan Grlić Radman, he posted:
“Appreciate seeing FM @grlicradman of Croatia at the @RomeMEDialogues.
“His sentiments for our ties are always positive.”
