New Delhi, Dec 30 (UNI) External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will represent the Government and people of India at the funeral of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, who passed away earlier today in Dhaka at age 80.
The EAM will visit Dhaka on December 31 for the funeral, a statement said.
The funeral prayers of Khaleda Zia will be held on Wednesday, at 2pm at the South Plaza of the National Parliament House and the adjacent Manik Mia Avenue.
She will be laid to rest at Zia Udyan in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, beside the grave of her husband, President Ziaur Rahman.
Khaleda Zia, also Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), passed away in Dhaka earlier today after a prolonged illness.
