Dunki’s trailer creates a buzz in Jabalpur

SRK’s fans thrilled to witness their city’s natural beauty on silver screen

Bhopal: The eagerly anticipated film “Dunki,” featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu, is set to release on December 21, and its trailer has created a buzz. Shot at captivating locations like London, Budapest, and Jeddah, the film also showcases scenes from the stunning marble rocks of Bhedaghat in Jabalpur.

In the movie trailer, the characters are seen on a steamer boat on the Narmada River, surrounded by the scenic beauty of Bhedaghat, including the marble rocks and the picturesque Dhuandhar waterfall.

Jabalpur locals, especially SRK’s fans, are thrilled to witness their city’s natural beauty on the silver screen. A post about this on the Instagram account “Jabalpuram” has garnered over 16,000 likes. Comments express pride, with one user calling Jabalpur the “Sanskardhani” (cultural capital) and another noting its irresistible charm.

“Dunki” adds to the list of films shot in Bhedaghat, including “Mohenjo Daro,” “Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai,” and “Bobby.” Even the opening sequence of the popular TV show “Mahabharat” (2013) was filmed here.

Known for its soaring white marble rocks along the Narmada River, Bhedaghat is famous for rocks that seemingly change shape as one sails along the river.

“Dunki,” shot in Jabalpur in December last year, marks SRK’s first collaboration with acclaimed filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani. The film also stars Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, Boman Irani, and Anil Grover. Notably, the shoot faced some protests by right-wing groups over a song controversy from Shah Rukh Khan’s previous blockbuster “Pathaan,” titled “Besharam Rang.”
