Drug mafia thriving under political shield in Bhopal, alleges Jitu Patwari

Bhopal,  A major drug bust near the Madhya Pradesh Assembly has triggered a political storm, with Congress leader Jitu Patwari alleging that the arrested accused, Yaseen, had close ties with BJP ministers and leaders, and was operating under political protection.

Yaseen was caught with 100 grams of narcotics near the legislative complex — a location that has raised eyebrows. Soon after his arrest, photos surfaced showing him with several BJP figures. Patwari said this was proof that the drug mafia is flourishing under BJP’s patronage.

“This is not just about one arrest. It exposes the dangerous nexus between criminals and those in power,” Patwari stated. He demanded that Chief Minister Mohan Yadav come clean about any links between Yaseen and BJP leaders.

Congress’ Demands:

* The Chief Minister must publicly clarify the matter and dismiss any ministers found involved.

* An independent, high-level probe should be ordered, either by CBI or under High Court supervision.

* A statewide anti-drug campaign must be launched, with no immunity for the powerful.

Patwari warned that silence from the CM would signal complicity, and vowed that Congress would not allow the youth of Madhya Pradesh to be destroyed by drug syndicates shielded by politics.

“No matter how high their position, anyone involved must face action,” he asserted. The incident has cast a shadow over the government, with growing public demand for transparency and accountability.
