Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy unparalleled in history: CM Yadav

  • India’s status as world’s largest democracy is true gift of Babasaheb, says CM during Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations in Mhow

Indore: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav paid glowing tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti at his birthplace in Mhow, highlighting his extraordinary contributions to social upliftment and empowerment of the underprivileged. Speaking at a public gathering after paying floral tributes at the Ambedkar Memorial, the Chief Minister said, “Dr. Ambedkar’s efforts for the upliftment of marginalized communities are unmatched in history. Thanks to his visionary work, India stands today as the world’s largest democracy.”

Dr. Yadav emphasized that despite facing extreme hardship, Babasaheb never compromised on his education and dedicated his life to dismantling centuries-old social injustices. “He gave India a powerful Constitution that laid the foundation of equality and justice,” he said, noting that his work continues to inspire generations.

Land Allotted for Pilgrims’ Rest House in Mhow

In a major announcement, Dr. Yadav revealed that the state government is allocating 3.5 acres of land in Mhow for the construction of a ‘Dharamshala’ (rest house) for pilgrims visiting the birthplace of Dr. Ambedkar. “This will ensure better facilities for devotees and visitors,” the CM said, adding that the government is committed to enhancing the infrastructure around important heritage sites connected to Babasaheb.

Empowering the Marginalized: Kamdhenu Yojana

Reaffirming the state’s commitment to social and economic empowerment, the CM also spoke about the Dr. Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana, under which members of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes opening dairy farms will receive a 30% subsidy. “This initiative is aimed at promoting self-employment and economic upliftment,” he added.

India’s Progress is Rooted in Ambedkar’s Vision

Highlighting the progress made by the SC/ST communities over the decades, Dr. Yadav pointed out that the literacy rate among Scheduled Castes, once a mere 1.5%, has now reached an impressive 59%. “Whenever our society faces challenges, we must draw strength from Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals of justice, equality, and education,” he said.

London Memorial & the Global Recognition of Ambedkar

Dr. Yadav also mentioned the establishment of a grand memorial in London, where Dr. Ambedkar had once studied. Despite opposition from local authorities, the memorial was made possible through the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “This place is now a revered ‘tirth’ for millions,” the CM noted.

Book Launch & Honoring Social Workers

During the ceremony, the Chief Minister and other dignitaries unveiled a new book titled “Samvaidhanik Samajik Nyay: Ek Chintan”. Social workers who have made exceptional contributions to community service were honored with the Bhim Ratna Award.

The program also featured addresses by Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development Savitri Thakur, Deputy CM Jagdish Deora, Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat, and other prominent leaders. Local MLA Usha Thakur welcomed the guests, and BJP state in-charge Mahendra Singh also shared his thoughts on Dr. Ambedkar’s enduring legacy.

A large number of devotees and public representatives gathered to pay homage, marking the occasion with reverence and pride.
