In the month of Shravan-Bhado, the time of Bhasmarati at 4 am every day in Mahakal temple will change. This year, Shravan month is starting from 22 July. From this day onwards, the new time will be applicable, which will continue till 2 September when the royal procession starts.
In the month of Shravan-Bhado, the doors of the temple will open at 3 am every day and at 2.30 pm every Monday. Whereas on normal days the doors are opened at 4 am. During this time, Bhasmarati will be held from 3 to 5 am every day and from 2.30 to 4.30 am on Monday. From 3 September onwards, the time of opening of doors will change to daily. There is a rule of opening doors early so that the maximum number of devotees can take advantage of the darshan of Lord Mahakal.
