Diljit Dosanjh’s controversial ‘Border-2’ set for Jan release; First look poster launched

Chandigarh, Dec 1 (UNI) Punjabi actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh has confirmed that his film Border-2 will release on January 23 next year.

The announcement came through Dosanjh’s social media accounts along with the first look poster, showing him in an Air Force uniform flying a jet during battle sequences.

The film faced delays due to objections from the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) regarding Dosanjh’s casting. FWICE had raised concerns over his recent work with a Pakistani actress, claiming it was unsuitable for a patriotic-themed movie and requested his removal.

Filmmakers appealed against the decision, stating that Dosanjh’s portions were already shot and replacing him would cause financial losses. FWICE accepted the appeal, allowing the film to move forward.

‘Border-2’ is a sequel to the 1997 film ‘Border’ and stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh. The movie includes large-scale war scenes featuring both air and ground battles. With the release date confirmed and the first look poster released, fans have expressed excitement and anticipation for the film.
