New Delhi, Dec 13 (UNI) Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh has reunited with director Imtiaz Ali following their critically acclaimed collaboration on Amar Singh Chamkila. Diljit shared glimpses from the set on Instagram, confirming his next untitled project with the filmmaker.
In the photos, Diljit is seen wearing a brown jacket, t-shirt, and black trousers, bowing respectfully to Imtiaz Ali. Captioning the post, he wrote, “Wrapped Shooting For Imtiaz Ali Sir’s Film.”
The duo previously worked together on Amar Singh Chamkila, which tells the story of Punjab’s legendary folk singer, often called the “Elvis of Punjab.”
Chamkila rose to fame in the 1980s for his bold songs and electrifying performances, but tragically, he and his wife Amarjot Kaur were killed in 1988 at the age of 27.
Released on Netflix in April 2024, the film also starred Parineeti Chopra and was written by Imtiaz Ali and Sajid Ali. It garnered praise for its live-recorded folk music and emotionally resonant storytelling.
Diljit’s performance in the film earned him his first International Emmy nomination, marking a significant milestone in his career.
