Bhopal: Former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh visited the Narela Assembly constituency to inspect complaints of irregularities in the voter revision survey ordered by the Central Election Commission. During his visit to Polling Station No. 189, he was shown the voter list at House No. 70 by local Congress leader Manoj Shukla. To Singh’s surprise, an RSS board was found hanging at the premises.
Inside the house, Singh and his team encountered Gautam Arya, the Mukhya Shikshak of the Jyotiba Phule Shakha, Naveen Nagar. When Singh sought clarification regarding the names listed on the voter roll for the address, Arya reportedly denied recognising any of them. Singh later demanded a high-level inquiry into the alleged discrepancies.
Upon conducting physical verification, it emerged that the location where Singh had been standing was, in fact, an RSS office that also served as a coordination centre for BJP’s election-related activities. Singh criticised this as a serious breach of electoral norms.
During a visit to another polling centre, Singh questioned BLO Pratibha Bhilware about missing names in the voter list. However, the BLO allegedly gave evasive responses, further raising concerns about the integrity of the revision process.
Several Congress leaders and workers, including Suresh Sahu, Amit Khatri, Vijendra Shukla, Tariq Ali, Ahmed Khan, Deepak Diwan, Amjad Lala, Prince Nawange, Anup Pandey, Sandeep Sarvaiya, Mo Rajik, Ikram Khan, Aleem Uddin, Faheem Bakhsh, Keshav More, Deepak Khatik, Anas ur Rahman and Mujahid Siddiqui, were present during the inspection.
