Digital mapping and tracking to secure board exams

  • High-tech shield

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) is going high-tech this February to ensure the integrity of High School and Higher Secondary exams. Moving beyond traditional methods, the Board is deploying advanced digital mapping and real-time tracking to eliminate cheating and enhance transparency.

Digital surveillance & real-time tracking

Public Relations Officer Bhupesh Gupta announced that the Board will utilize two specialized applications: “Conduct of Exam” and “Command Control System.” These tools will track the movement of question papers from collection centers to exam halls.

To prevent leaks, question paper boxes will be monitored via GPS. If any delay occurs, authorities will immediately alert the District Collector. Furthermore, papers will only be unsealed inside the classroom directly in front of the students.

Strategic security measures

Out of 3,856 exam centers, the Board has identified high-risk zones for intensive monitoring.

Jammers: Installed at 700 centers to block internet and mobile signals.

CCTV: 226 sensitive centers will be under live feed at the Board’s central control room.

Flying Squads: Mobile teams will conduct surprise inspections based on the density of centers in each district.

Secure evaluation via bar coding

To ensure fair grading for the 1.6 million students (9 lakh High School; 7 lakh Intermediate), the Board is introducing Barcoded Answer Sheets. This hides student identities during evaluation, allowing papers to be checked across different districts without bias.

By blending GPS tracking with digital surveillance, the MP Board aims to deliver a foolproof and merit-based examination season.
