- Speculation- List of officers of Women and Child Development Department is going viral in groups
- Six women ministers who held the department in 15 years did not win the next election
Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal
In the last 15 years, whoever has held the responsibility of Women and Child Development Department in the state has either lost the post of minister or the post of MLA.
The incidents after six women leaders of the state became ministers of this department are pointing towards this. Now, similar things are being said about Shivraj Singh Chauhan, who is playing the role of acting CM after the appointment of Mohan Yadav to the post of Chief Minister. Acting CM Chauhan had kept the Women and Child Development department with himself after Imarti Devi lost the elections in 2021. He did not make anyone the minister of this department. Now, after Chauhan stepped down from the post of CM, the names of the ministers who were ministers of the department and could neither become MLAs nor ministers in the next elections are going viral on the social media groups of officials of the Women and Child Development Department. The officers of this department say that they were made to work hard on Ladli Lakshmi, Ladli Bahna and other departmental schemes, but when it came to the interest of the officers, they were ignored, now perhaps the new Chief Minister will take care of their problems. Imarti Devi was the Minister of Women and Child Development Department first in the Kamal Nath government formed in 2018 and then in the Shivraj government. She was defeated by Suresh Raje in the by-election. She had to face defeat in this election also. Archana Chitnis was made the Minister of Women and Child Development Department just two years before the 2018 Assembly elections, but in the 2018 elections, she lost the election from Burhanpur Assembly seat. She was defeated by independent MLA Surendra Singh Shera. Maya Singh became the Minister of Women and Child Development Department after the 2013 Assembly elections but her department was changed two years before the 2018 elections. After this, she was not given a ticket in the 2018 elections.
Lalita and Mehdele also lost the election
Lalita Yadav was also made Minister of State in the Women and Child Development Department before the 2018 elections. She also lost the 2018 elections, although she has emerged victorious in this assembly election. After the formation of BJP government in Madhya Pradesh in 2003, Kusum Mahadele was made the Minister of Women and Child Development Department, but in the 2008 elections, while being the Minister of this department, she had to face defeat by just 48 votes. Ranjana Baghel was given the charge of Women and Child Development Department in 2007, but while being a minister, Ranjana Baghel lost the 2008 assembly elections from Manawar assembly seat.
