Bhopal: Prompt and sensitive action by Dial-112 personnel helped reunite an eight-year-old mentally unwell girl with her family in Raisen district, officials said on Thursday.
The State-level Dial-112 control room in Bhopal received information on March 18 about a young girl found alone in Akanksha Colony under Mandideep police station limits. Acting swiftly, a response vehicle was dispatched to the spot.
Upon arrival, head constable Mahesh Kumar Tekam and pilot Saurabh took the child into safe custody. As she was unable to provide details about her family, the team conducted local enquiries but found no immediate leads.
The girl was then brought to Mandideep police station. Shortly afterwards, her family arrived while searching for her. Following proper identification and verification, the child was safely handed over.
Officials said the incident highlights the commitment of Dial-112 services towards ensuring public safety, particularly for vulnerable children.
