New Delhi, May 19 (UNI) In a rare gesture, Vice President Jagadeep Dhankhar visited the residence of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda on Tuesday morning to exchange birthday greetings, as both leaders celebrated their birthdays on May 18.
The Vice President arrived at the former Prime Minister’s residence on Saptarjung Lane where the two senior leaders greeted each other warmly.
During the meeting, the leaders engaged in discussions on pressing national issues, with particular emphasis on challenges facing the farming community and agricultural schemes introduced by the Narendra Modi government.
Expressing his appreciation for the ongoing rapport with former Prime Ministers, Vice President Dhankhar thanked the members of the Rajya Sabha and other dignitaries for their support in facilitating important national discourse.
Former Prime Minister Deve Gowda extended his best wishes to the Vice President and his spouse, appreciating the visit.
Speaking on the occasion, Deve Gowda said, “My birthday coincides with that of the Vice President on May 18. He graciously called to convey his wishes and greeted me on social media as well. It was a pleasure to receive him at my residence this morning.”
