- Staying on Till Dec 2026
Indore: In a significant move highlighting confidence in the state’s top leadership, the Madhya Pradesh government has granted a one-year service extension to Director General of Police (DGP) Kailash Makwana. This decision will see the senior IPS officer remain at the helm of the state police until December 2, 2026.
DGP Makwana was originally scheduled for retirement in December 2025. However, acknowledging his invaluable experience and effective work methodology, the Home Department issued orders to extend his tenure.
Focus on Modern Policing
Throughout his illustrious career in the state police service, Makwana has held several crucial appointments. Currently, he is focused not only on maintaining robust law and order but also on the strategic modernization of police operations across Madhya Pradesh.
The government’s decision to extend his term underscores its endorsement of his leadership and the ongoing police reforms under his supervision. The move ensures continuity at a critical administrative post, reinforcing stability in the state’s security apparatus.
