Bhopal: The departmental final of the 18th Challenger Trophy Cricket Tournament, organised by the Maheshwar Sports Education and Social Organisation, concluded successfully on December 23 at the Nehru Nagar Police Lines in Bhopal. The title clash was contested between DGP-11 and the District Police Force, Bhopal, with DGP-11 registering a commanding 121-run victory to lift the trophy.
After winning the toss, DGP-11 elected to bat and posted an imposing 218 for 6 in the allotted 20 overs. Dishant Khare starred with a scintillating knock of 89 runs, well supported by Gaurav Singh Bhadauria (58) and Pragya Balre (39). For the District Police Force, Vishal Kahar claimed three wickets, while Sushil picked up two.
In reply, the District Police Force struggled against disciplined bowling and were bowled out for 97 runs. A. Pathan top-scored with a fighting 42. Rahul Rawat led the bowling attack for DGP-11 with four wickets, while Narendra Raikwar took three and Arun added one.
Dishant Khare was named Man of the Match. Other awards included Best Bowler to Vishal Singh Bhadauria, Best Batter to Gaurav Singh Bhadauria, Best Fielder/Wicketkeeper to Sandeep Suryavanshi, and Player of the Tournament to Vishal Kahar.
The prize distribution was conducted by 25th Battalion Commandant Nagendra Singh. Officials, coaches, players and a large number of sports enthusiasts attended the ceremony. The victory symbolised not only sporting excellence but also the discipline, dedication and fitness of police personnel.
