Bhopal, Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla held a cordial meeting with Mr. Sunil Thomas Jacob, the State Head of Office for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), at the ministry in Bhopal. The discussion centered on key health priorities for the state, with a focus on family planning and maternal and child health services.
Deputy Chief Minister Shukla emphasized that improving maternal and child health is a top priority for the state government. He assured that the observations and suggestions presented by UNFPA would be acted upon. The conversation also covered strategies to enhance the quality of health services, ensure the availability of trained medical staff, and strengthen public awareness campaigns.
During the meeting, Mr. Jacob provided a detailed overview of UNFPA’s ongoing efforts and programs in Madhya Pradesh. The two leaders discussed how to promote modern family planning methods and control the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) and Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR). Mr. Jacob also shared insights on the progress and challenges encountered at the regional level, underscoring the collaborative effort to improve health outcomes across the state.
