Dense fog envelops many cities

Bhopal: On Sunday morning, Madhya Pradesh saw dense fog, leading to a tragic chain of events on National Highway-44 in Sagar. Dense fog contributed to a collision of four vehicles, resulting in the immediate loss of two lives in Shivpuri.

Gwalior remained the coldest place on Saturday night, with the temperature plummeting to 7.5 degrees Celsius. Pachmarhi experienced a slightly milder temperature of 8.6°C. The ongoing Western Disturbance activity in North India, coupled with a shift in wind direction, has induced a 2 to 8 degree rise in both daytime and nighttime temperatures. However, the brisk winds are tempering the sun’s warmth.

Meteorologists predict that this weather pattern will persist for the next two days, with a return of cold conditions expected from December 26 onward. Madhya Pradesh is currently under the influence of the Western Disturbance, though the presence of high-altitude clouds eliminates the possibility of rainfall. Dr. Vedprakash Singh, a senior meteorologist, forecasts a rain-free period for the state in the coming days.
