Demands for death penalty in “Love Jihad” cases

  • Hindu women stage city-wide protests in Bhopal

Bhopal, Echoing a growing sentiment of outrage, women representing the Sakal Hindu Samaj (All Hindu Society) took to the streets of Bhopal today, demanding capital punishment for those convicted in “Love Jihad” cases. Demonstrations erupted at 25 locations across the city, with participants raising fervent slogans against what they perceive as a systematic conspiracy.

At each protest site, the women submitted memorandums addressed to the Collector, urging immediate and stringent action, specifically demanding the death penalty for the accused in the recent and deeply disturbing TIT College “Love Jihad” scandal. Throughout the demonstrations, impassioned female speakers addressed the gatherings, aiming to raise awareness within the Hindu community about the alleged threats.

The speakers asserted that a calculated conspiracy to target Hindu girls is underway across the state and nation. They described “Love Jihad” as a tactic involving deceitful relationships to facilitate religious conversion, physical exploitation, the introduction of victims to drug abuse, and the coercion of these girls into recruiting other young women. The TIT College incident in Bhopal was cited as a prime and heinous example of this alleged conspiracy.

Planned hiding of names

The speakers highlighted the alleged modus operandi of the accused Muslim men at TIT College, who they claimed concealed their identities to befriend Hindu girls, ensnaring them in false romantic relationships for the purpose of physical exploitation. They further alleged that the victims were forced into drug addiction and coerced into luring other girls into similar traps. Disturbingly, the speakers claimed the accused were preparing to sell objectionable photos and videos of these girls on websites.

Emphasizing the urgent need for vigilance, the speakers stressed the importance of educating Hindu women and girls about this “undeclared aggression” of “Love Jihad.” They drew a stark parallel between those who commit murder after asking a victim’s name and those who conceal their identity to deceive and exploit in the guise of love, suggesting a shared underlying mentality. The Sakal Hindu Samaj women declared their unwavering opposition to these alleged conspiracies, calling for a united front to fight for every daughter, empower them, and shield them from falling prey to the deceptive tactics of such individuals. Their resolute message was clear: they will not allow a single Hindu daughter to become a victim of “Love Jihad.”

Large number of women participated

The protests witnessed a significant participation of Hindu women, young girls, and other community members, many carrying placards with anti-“Love Jihad” slogans and saffron flags. The demonstrators chanted slogans demanding the hanging of those found guilty of “Love Jihad” and justice for the victims. Prominent locations across Bhopal became focal points for these demonstrations, with designated female speakers addressing the gatherings at each of the 25 sites, amplifying the call for justice and awareness.
