Delhi Traffic Police gears up for 44th India International Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan

New Delhi, Nov 13 (UNI) The Delhi Traffic Police has made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth traffic and pedestrian movement during the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025, which will be held at Pragati Maidan from November 14 to 27. The fair will start on Friday at 10 am, an official said on Thursday.

The annual event, known to attract a massive turnout of business visitors, exhibitors, and the general public from across India and abroad, often leads to heavy traffic congestion in and around Pragati Maidan.

To manage this effectively, the Delhi Traffic Police issued a comprehensive traffic deployment plan on November 11.

“A total of 245 traffic personnel will be on duty in three shifts round the clock. In addition, 15 cranes, 16 motorcycle patrol units, and three Disaster Management vehicles have been deployed to handle emergencies and ensure smooth traffic flow,” said Rajeev Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic, New Delhi Range).

Adding to his statement further, he mentioned that a briefing-cum-preparedness meeting was held on Thursday at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, chaired by Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic Zone-II).

“Officers from ITPO, DCP/Traffic (New Delhi Range), and other officials involved in managing the fair attended the meeting,” he stated.

Entry gates have been designated for business visitors, exhibitors, media personnel, VVIPs, and ITPO officials, while specific parking lots have been identified for visitors’ convenience.

“Directional sign boards for entry, exit, and parking have been installed, and No Parking and Tow-Away Zones have been clearly marked,” Officer Kumar stated.

In order to assist the visitors, six Traffic Help Desks and a Traffic Control Room in the ITPO Admin Block have been set up. A Delhi Traffic Police Awareness Stall will also be featured at the fair to educate the public on road safety and traffic rules.

“We have also issued advisories on its social media platforms, urging commuters to plan their routes accordingly to avoid inconvenience,” the DCP said.
