New Delhi, To ensure the employability of the students of the national capital, Delhi government is going to set up a one of its kind ‘Delhi Skills and Entrepreneurhsip University,’ Delhi Chief Minster Arvind Kejriwal announced on Monday. There will be 85 per cent reservation for the Delhi voters in the university, said the AAP leader.
This will help produce young entrepreneurs and open employment opportunities for the young individuals. ‘Delhi Government to establish a one of a kind Delhi Skills and Entrepreneurship University. The mission of the university is to ensure the employability of the students.’, Delhi CM said while addressing the media here in the capital.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said that though there is a lot of talk regarding skill development in the country, however, on the ground skill development is limited to a Diploma Course. He added saying that Delhi government’s university’s aim will be to make sure that Skill and Entrepreneurship is given importance.
“We often talk about skill development in our country, but the reality is that it is reduced to a mere diploma course. The aim of our university is to ensure that Skill and Entrepreneurship is given importance.’, said Sisodia. The syllabus and the courses that will be part of the curriculum will be designed as per market demands, while the other ITIs and Polytechnics will become a part of this University.
The university will offer not only various diploma courses, but, also MPhil and PhD research. It will collaborate with the foreign universities for advanced learning experiences for students. The university will also collaborate with industries and companies to provide employment to its graduates.
