New Delhi, Nov 26 (UNI) In a significant update to the Delhi Red Fort blast case, investigative agencies on Wednesday claimed to have recovered the deleted WhatsApp chats of Dr. Adil, a key accused whose arrest led them to the Faridabad terror module.
The retrieved chats revealed their desperate financial straits, repeatedly pleading for money. Investigators suspect these funds were used to finance the attack, in which a suicide bomber, Dr. Umar Nabi, exploded his i20 car, killing fifteen people and injuring over thirty-two.
UNI has accessed screenshots of these WhatsApp chats from agency sources. “All these chats had been deleted from Adil’s phone. In them, he is persistently demanding money, even asking for an advance on his salary in one instance,” a source said.
The chats are dated September 5, 6, 7 and 9, 2025. In them, Adil states he is in urgent need of funds. Investigative agencies suspect that this same money was used for the blast. “In fact, Adil was begging for the money. Out of the Rs 26 lakhs used in the attack, Adil had provided 8 lakh rupees. During interrogation, the arrested accused, Muzammil, said that they used to call Adil the treasurer,” the source added.
The investigation has also confirmed that Dr. Adil travelled to the national capital just before the alleged events, flying from Srinagar to Delhi on October 11.
